1、Can the Fiber port on the Unity Quantum 140CPU67160 be used to communicate to Ethernet Modbus TCP devices?
No. The native Ethernet port is a 100 Mbps fiber optic link. It is dedicated to Hot Standby . In order to communicate “Ethernet Modbus TCP” an NOE card will be required in your configuration.
2、What could cause my Quantum 140CPU67160 to come up as ‘NO CONFIG’ after a power cycle?
One possible cause is that the PLC is using a PCMCIA card in slot 1 that has a bad battery. A bad battery is indicated by PCM1 with the number flashing on the LCD display. In PLC logic, %S67 (PCMCIABAT0) can be monitored.

Yes. As of firmware version 3.00-00-42 the ‘A’ or ‘B’ designation can be selected by using the LCD panel. The setting can be found by navigating to the PLC Operations – Hot Standby area. ***Using firmware versions previous to this the ‘A’ and ‘B’ designation was determined by the MAC address found on the lower front of the PLC. With both PLCs on-line, the lowest MAC address was ‘A’.
