1、Can the Fiber port on the Unity Quantum 140CPU67160 be used to communicate to Ethernet Modbus TCP devices?

No. The native Ethernet port is a 100 Mbps fiber optic link. It is dedicated to Hot Standby . In order to communicate “Ethernet Modbus TCP” an NOE card will be required in your configuration.

2、What could cause my Quantum 140CPU67160 to come up as ‘NO CONFIG’ after a power cycle?

One possible cause is that the PLC is using a PCMCIA card in slot 1 that has a bad battery. A bad battery is indicated by PCM1 with the number flashing on the LCD display. In PLC logic, %S67 (PCMCIABAT0) can be monitored.

4、Is the ‘A’ or ‘B’ PLC designation selectable in a Unity 140CPU67160 Hot Standby system?

Yes. As of firmware version 3.00-00-42 the ‘A’ or ‘B’ designation can be selected by using the LCD panel. The setting can be found by navigating to the PLC Operations – Hot Standby area.
***Using firmware versions previous to this the ‘A’ and ‘B’ designation was determined by the MAC address found on the lower front of the PLC. With both PLCs on-line, the lowest MAC address was ‘A’.

5、How to upgrade the coprocessor’s firmware of UNITY HSBY 140 CPU 67160?

To upgrade the copro firmware of the 140CPU67160 (using OSLoader), you need to use the fibre optic MTRJ port and switch which as fibre optic and electrical RJ45 ports (such as the 490 NOC 000 05 cable and 499 NOS 171 00 switch).

There are no other method available at this moment.
