Function

The analog input modules convert analog signals from the process into digital signals for internal processing in the controller.

The modules feature:

  • Resolution from 9 to 15 bits + sign (with different conversion times), can be parameterized.
  • Different measurement ranges;
    the default setting of the current/voltage ranges is set mechanically using measuring range modules, the fine adjustment is performed with STEP 7 “Hardware configuration” via PG.
  • Interrupt capability;
    the module sends diagnostic and limit-value interrupts to the CPU of the controller.
  • Diagnostics;
    the module sends extensive diagnostic information to the CPU.
Application

Analog input modules can be used to connect the PLC to analog process signals. They are suitable for the connection of voltage and current sensors, thermocouples, resistors and resistance thermometers.
