Compatibility
The PCU 50 with 333 MHz or 500 MHz and with Windows NT will be replaced by the PCU 50 with 566 MHz or 1.2 GHz also with Windows NT. In order to use the PCU 50 with 566 MHz or 1.2 GHz, the basic software “PCU 50-Base 07.03.02” is required. This basic software is included in the supply of all of the innovated PCU 50 NT versions.
The PCU 50 with 566 MHz or 1.2 GHz is fully compatible for the application software (HMI-Advanced, ProTool Pro “Option SINUMERIK”, …).
Ghost images, which were generated with a PCU 50 with 333 MHz or 500 MHz can be still used, under specific prerequisites, on the PCU 50 with 566 MHz or 1.2 GHz. Please contact your local Siemens office regarding the retrofit software which is electronically available.
